Let’s Learn About Menopause

October is menopause awareness month! Who knew? Not only did I not know, I’m learning about many aspects of menopause that I didn’t know and that I want to shout off the rooftops about. If you were born with ovaries, I want to tell you that things have changed in the last five years in terms of what we know and don’t know about hormone therapy. I’m realizing that it’s a question of education and CHOICE, and a need for rebranding. Menopause is not a moment when we move from one side of life to another. Menopause is not a health “problem”, and your symptoms are not dysfunctions, and may fall outside of a list of 12 options. I am starting my research journey so that I can make informed choices for my body. I understand that my medical provider is limited to a 15-20 minute appointment with me, and is probably….definitly…. not up to date on menopause research and literature. I understand that the western healthcare system is not designed to see women’s health as anything outside the bikini regions. Find out the truth, do your own research, ask for what you want. Talk with your friends and family. Stop shaming women for having what we have called menopause symptoms, hot flashes, mood swings, and bloated bellies. Stop shaming and punishing yourself! You don’t have to go it alone. Start sharing your stories, it helps.

I’m offering a FREE online Movement Medicine ® journey called Let’s Dance About Menopause on Wednesday, October 19th, 2022 at 5:00 pm Pacific. No experience necessary. No steps to learn. Just breathe and body.

Here are some resources I’ve found to be helpful. This is a growing and changing list as I discover more.
